We'll warn you if the image is too small

A small photo or scan can look fine on screen and still hide doubtful figures: a B grade that looks like an 8, a 1 that looks like a 7. Now we warn you when you upload the image and, if you go ahead with it, we ask you about anything that can't be read with certainty instead of guessing it.

New order · small-image notice when uploading a photo

How it works

  1. Upload the image when you create the order.
  2. If its longest side is under 1,100 pixels, you'll see the notice: “This image is small (width × height px): some numbers, grades or codes may be hard to read.”
  3. If you have a sharper or larger version, upload it instead: the notice goes away by itself.
  4. Otherwise, continue with Analyze & Continue. When the page is read, each doubtful value is marked and you confirm or correct it in Verify document, before translating.

Good to know

  • It's a notice, not a block: you can continue with the same image.
  • It appears for images (JPG, PNG, WebP or TIFF). PDFs don't show it.
  • In these images, every doubtful value on the page is marked, not just a few, and anything that's completely illegible is flagged as such instead of being made up.
  • The notice doesn't change what the order costs.

When to use it

With academic transcripts full of grades, certificates with codes or amounts, and photos and screenshots that arrive compressed by email or through messaging apps.

FAQ

Why 1,100 pixels? Below that size, small characters such as B and 8, 3 and 8, or 1 and 7 are easily confused.

I don't have another version. What do I do? Go ahead and take your time reviewing what we ask you in Verify document: that's exactly what's worth checking against the original.
