Chinese, Japanese and Korean: font size and line spacing adapt on their own

Korean, Chinese and Japanese read better with a slightly larger font and more room between lines. And the other way around: an original in those languages translated into Spanish or English comes out too large if its size is copied. Now the translation adapts on its own.

New order · font toggle for Chinese, Japanese and Korean

What it does

  • Into Chinese, Japanese or Korean, the font grows by up to 15% and lines are spaced up to 25% further apart.
  • From those languages, the font shrinks by up to 13% and the space between lines by up to 20%.
  • The text never runs off the page.
  • The Word file uses a font designed for that language, which looks right in both Word and Google Docs.

How it works

  1. It's on by default. Your account's setting is in Settings, on the Translated document card: Adapt the font size for Chinese, Japanese or Korean.
  2. When you create an order into or from one of those languages, the same toggle appears for that order. It starts out the way you have it set for the account.

Good to know

  • When it's off, the translation uses the same font size as the original.
  • It only kicks in when the script changes, for example from Korean to Spanish. Between two languages written in Latin script, or from Korean to Japanese, nothing changes.
  • Whatever you choose when you create the order is saved with that order.

When to use it

If you translate records, certificates or contracts into or from East Asian languages and want the translation to read like a document written in that language.
